One of the earliest Georgian buildings in Chester, The Old Palace Chester was built in 1751 and is now a luxurious events venue with beautiful riverside views across The Groves and River Dee. Originally built as the residence for the Bishop of Chester, the venue boasts a high degree of privacy with picturesque views that ensure an unforgettable experience.

Old Palace Chester has a vast history, previously being converted into the Chester YMCA before being refurbished and extended into offices. It is a listed Grade II building and contains some nationally significant interiors, with plasterwork by Italian stuccatori.

The building has undergone meticulous restoration to help redefine it as an exclusive-use venue with 23 ensuite bedrooms that help create a unique city-based experience. Still preserving its original essence, the project became a labour of love, creating a seamless blend of old-world charm and contemporary sophistication. The Old Palace Chester is a captivating location that always leaves a lasting impression.

With seasonal, flexible and bespoke menus on offer, you’ll experience imaginative dishes serving the finest and most flavourful British produce. The menu can be tailored entirely to you, whether you’d prefer a mix of sharing dishes or some of your personal favourites - collaboration is key to every successful event. There is also the option of sustainably sourced wines or signature cocktails to elevate the experience further.

Hidden within Chester city centre, this riverside location is easy to access, just 10 minutes from the M53 and a 15-minute walk from the nearest train station. Secure, gated onsite parking is available for guests and there is disabled access, making it easy to manoeuvre for those with low mobility. It’s even accessible by boat should you be searching for a more interesting arrival.

The onsite accommodation embodies both luxury and comfort, with each bedroom thoughtfully designed to provide a tranquil space for all guests. With a 150-seated dining capacity, 23 ensuite bedrooms and a private garden terrace and outdoor kitchen, you’ll have everything you need to host a memorable and unique event.

“I just wanted to say thank you for making our Team Building Day at Eaves Hall such a fantastic event. All the staff thoroughly enjoyed the day and I think I can honestly speak for everyone at Bender UK and say that it has been our best event to date!! The venue was stunning, the weather was glorious and we couldn’t have asked for a better day. Ben, we thought the team building games were excellent and it was great to see our staff not only working together as a team but having a laugh and enjoying it at the same time. I honestly couldn’t fault the day and even the more sceptical members of staff who said they hate team building, came away smiling. 😊”
