Chain Reaction

Indoor Activity

Have you ever seen giant domino run or science machine and wondered - how do they do that? Well, now you have the chance to try it for yourself. Chain Reaction is a unique team building activity that has been specially designed to test a group’s creativity and problem-solving skills. You and your colleagues will be tasked with building a free-flowing chain reaction along a series of platforms, ramps and towers. This giant reaction must start on the first platform and run all the way to the final tower without interruption.

As is typical within business, the success or failure of this project relies on collaboration and co-operation between rival teams. With this in mind, you’ll have to work with the competing groups around you to ensure that the chain reaction passes successfully from one section of the platform to the others. If your reaction fails during the handover then both teams involved are deemed responsible and points are lost.

Each team will be given a different coloured section of the game and provided with a kit box full of useful materials. This includes dominos, wooden blocks, balls, tape, string and other building materials. How you use the limited resources provided is up to you! To succeed with this activity, your group will have to take stock of your supplies and find innovative solutions to bridge the gaps and keep the reaction moving seamlessly around your section.

Points are awarded for creativity and artistic flair. However, it’s important to ensure that it’s not just a case of style over substance, as each break will cost you valuable points. Having a back-up plan can sometimes save the day, but with limited time and resources available your team will need to decide whether to play it safe or take a more daring route. So, if you’re looking for a unique event activity that is guaranteed to get groups thinking in new ways, collaborating with colleagues and working together to solve a challenge then this activity is the one for you.

“I cannot recommend this company enough. Natasha was a great help from start to finish when I contacted her regarding an away day for my team. We are an NHS team and have been undergoing huge change. Once I explained this as well as my apprehension as it was the first one I was leading and solo! I was given lots of of helpful tips for the day as well as recommended 2 activities to build rapport and communication and have some fun.”
